Across The Bay
Many of the pieces I created during isolation involve water, the flow of it across land or looking toward a lake in the distance. Isolation had me thinking more about how essential nature is to our lives, and for me there is nothing more beautiful, or essential in nature than water. It speaks to me of freedom and wonderful memories of travel to beautiful places.
As I painted this piece I recalled a family trip to Sydney in 2019 and the time we spent looking across the water, catching the ferries and zipping about all the smaller bays, and a day trip to Manly on the Manly ferry.
