Summer holidays are about time spent doing fun things with people we love - gathering, laughing, eating great food and for me, being around water.
Cliff Jumping is a large abstract painting with beautiful multilayered depth. My newfound fear of heights means this pastime is not for me, so I am comfortable witnessing others' fun, and then painting about it after.
Eroding the surface, I scrape areas which appear as sunlit reflections beaming into the shallows, or light refracting off sand and submerged rocks.
My aim is to create works with magnetism and emotive power so the viewer feels both witness to- and a part of, the rhythm of the water. Nurtured, held, and alive with the very nature of it.
