Dams and Bridges

This richly textured painting is the first in a series involving the flow of water across the land. A warm palette of ochre, crimson and magenta form the underpainting with expressive mark making laid over. The title of this painting is from games I played as a child and also with my own children, of redirecting water in creeks and lagoons, building dams from sticks and logs. An uplifting painting built on happy memories.
