Expressive, contemporary abstracts by Brisbane artist Nicole Fearfield

Daytripping

Daytripping is an energetic, expressive abstract painting inspired by my own travel and adventures.  Warm creams, deep red and pinks, and  pale ochres with calming muted greys to compliment, this painting was created with thoughts of travels through Australia.

The warmth of the land, vast distances and open spaces are all captured in energetic brushstrokes in acrylic paint and graphite.  My style is very expressive in nature with thick and thin areas of paint and much freedom in mark making in order to express the scenery, the atmosphere and movement across landscapes that were calling to me to be painted.

Daytripping was selected as a finalist in the Bluethumb 2020 Art Prize.

As with all of my art, this painting is a culmination of very happy times and wonderful places and experiences.  The title Daytripping came to me after I had been on a sketching outing one day and returned to my studio to work on this piece.

Daytripping creates a striking statement piece at almost 1m wide.  This painting would make a stunning gift for a special birthday or occasion or one of a kind gift for your own home interior.

Daytripping is professionally framed in a beautiful, deep edged natural oak float frame. The painting is varnished for protection and ships ready to hang on your wall.

I would love to help you find a beautiful statement piece for your home or office, so please click here to email me about this or any other piece in my gallery, and subscribe to my mailing list to be first to hear about new releases.
