Diving For Treasure
 
Diving For Treasure is inspired by memories of wonderful hours spent at the beach with my young daughter, scouring rock pools for crabs and swimming out to the headland together. Watching for mermaids and diving for treasure.
 
The light reflecting off the sea and sand, and the energy of the water and wind are all captured in energetic brushstrokes in acrylic paint and graphite.  As with all of my art, this painting is a culmination of very happy times and wonderful places and experiences.  
 
This painting is all about the joy of time spent in nature with my children, happiest times in exciting places, it turns out there’s treasure everywhere you look.  
 
My style is very expressive in nature with thick and thin areas of paint and much freedom in mark making in order to express the scenery, the atmosphere and movement across the beach and sea that were calling to me to be painted.
