Dog DaysDog Days is a fun piece I started with only compositional and colour harmony ideas in mind. The further I took it, the more enjoyable the journey became. Working with light and dark values, the painting took on a life of its own, and unintentional shapes began to emerge before me. This is not uncommon in my paintings, often I paint over recognisable shapes not always wanting to let the painting become about them. This one amused me so they're here to stay.
