What began as an exploration of my favourite colours in a limited palette has become a painting full of joyful, expressive marks. I began this piece with no clear concept in mind and then built the layers of the painting, making decisions in the moment on value, design and colour. The title comes from an overheard conversation where someone was proclaiming themselves as "exceedingly smart". It amused me and I thought it would make a great title. 
This piece was created on yupo paper and comes rolled in a tube for easy shipping. It is UV varnished for protection. I am happy to arrange professional framing, feel free to ask.
