Fashionably Organic

Fashionably Organic is from my new series of expressive, abstract landscapes which draw heavily from the local bushland around my studio near the foot of Mt Coot-tha. I walk with my dog daily there and derive such a strong connection with nature, this year more than ever before, after witnessing the effects of drought and bushfire conditions, then the relief of rain and regrowth throughout Australia.

I gather information on these walks, taking in the sounds, smells and colours around me and then work from memory back in my studio, aiming to impart the feeling of a place more than a copy of an exact place in the bush. The energy of the land is what I aim to capture.

My painting style is expressive, with energetic mark making and areas of thick impasto as well as thin washy paint. 

This painting is on professional quality canvas, unframed and is ready to hang. It is UV varnished for protection.
