Mountains of Charm

Mountains of Charm is an abstract landscape painting full of expressive marks and brushstrokes. It is based on a compilation of sketches I have made in the landscape near my home studio in Mt Coot-tha, Qld.  Some of my sketches have been used here as collage in the paintings.

My style is very expressive in nature with thick and thin areas of paint and energetic mark making. I've used collage and acrylics on these pieces to fully express the muted tones of the landscape on a hazy day.

As with all of my art, these paintings are made from a recollection of very happy times and wonderful places and experiences. The title Mountains of Charm is a play on words, chosen to describe the way I was feeling about the landscape I was recalling.

I enjoyed the freedom of using loose and textural mark making to convey a sense of the elements, and the challenge of using close tonal values and a muted colour palette.

Positioned together on the wall, they create a beautifully large statement piece at almost 1.3m wide.  This pair of paintings would make a stunning gift for a special birthday or occasion or one of a kind gift for your own home interior.

Mountains of Charm is painted across 2 canvasses of 63.5cm wide x 79cm each. These paintings are  professionally framed in deep edged, natural oak float frames. These pieces are varnished for protection and ship ready to hang.

Total framed size 127cm (w) x 79cm (h)

I would love to help you find a beautiful statement piece for your home or office, so please feel free to email me (below) to find out about this or any other piece in my gallery, or subscribe to my mailing list to be first to hear about new releases.
