What began as an exploration of my favourite colours in a limited palette has become a painting full of joyful, expressive marks. I begin each of my pieces with no clear concept in mind and then build the layers of the painting, making decisions as I go on value, design and colour. Thoughts of a tea party came to me as I created this and abstracted forms of tea cups, saucers and milk jugs are drawn in and lie beneath the swathes of colour.
This piece is on deep edged canvas, it is UV varnished for protection and comes ready to hang.
The Tea Party
This painting is stretched on canvas and comes ready to hang. I prefer to leave the sides of the canvass unpainted to show the history of the marks made, however if you'd like them painted I can accommodate.
